Winter is the best time to visit Malawi. Coinciding with the dry season, and lasting from May to October. The dry is the best time for game viewing and hiking and getting around the country. June and July are the cold months, with average temperature of 21°C, and colder in the nights, especially in the highlands. November to April is hot, humid and rainy with more rain falling on the higher plateaus than around the lake with average temperature reaching up to 32°C.
